This means that the establishment, which previously had four stars, will now have five stars, being the first in the region to achieve this consideration since the new regulations came into force. “The hotel decree approved by the Andalusian Government not only meets the requirements of the sector, which has been waiting for this change for more than 15 years, but it is also an opportunity to achieve a higher quality tourism,” explained the Territorial Delegate of the Ministry of Tourism, Regeneration, Justice and Local Government of Malaga, who visited the facilities together with the mayor of Fuengirola, and the director of the hotel, Javier Rodriguez, said that “this new rule will help to make the facilities more competitive, updating the classification to the current market, and making it more flexible.

The delegate recalled that some classification criteria are now defined by points, and that quality and services are also evaluated, ahead of the requirements of the repealed regulation, in which dimensions and surfaces played a very important role.
